Plenty of item and rune changes will affect the bottom lane.
Patch 14.15 brings significant changes to items, runes, and a selection of champions. These updates will shift the meta, particularly impacting the ADC role, as well as bringing various adjustments to mages and fighters.
To help you navigate through this patch, here are the champions that stand out in and why they currently are the best picks for climbing the ranks in solo queue.
Top Lane: Sett, Volibear
Probably the most stable meta in the last few patches is the top lane, with The Boss, Sett remaining a top-tier pick due to his consistent performance and versatility. His ability to dominate in 1v1 scenarios and provide substantial crowd control in team fights makes him a reliable choice for any player looking to carry from the top lane.
Meanwhile, Volibear \continues to be a powerhouse in the top lane with his strong laning phase and ability to influence early skirmishes. His tankiness and damage output make him a formidable opponent, and his ultimate provides excellent utility for diving towers and securing objectives.
Other options aside from the most OP picks include Garen, Camille, Malphite, Illaoi, Warwick and Aatrox, who all have very good win rates. If you’re in low elo, you wouldn’t go wrong with Sett, Malphite, or Urgot.
Jungle: Nocturne, Lilia, Kha'Zix
Nocturne continues to reign terror in the jungle in 14.15, especially since the 14.10 14.10 Jungle XP changes, and multiple nerfs from 14.14 that affected other picks in the Jungle.
Kha'Zix moves up to the OP tier in this patch due to buffs and favorable changes to the Dark Harvest rune. His ability to isolate and burst down targets makes him a potent threat in solo queue, where catching out-of-position enemies can swing the game.
Despite recent nerfs, Lillia is still one of the best picks for this role. Her mobility, area-of-effect damage, and crowd control make her a highly effective pick for both ganking and farming. Her scaling into the late game is also very strong, making her a reliable choice.
Other picks to consider if all these champions aren’t available are Shyvana (although not as OP compared to the last 2 patches), Briar, Udyr, Fiddlesticks, and Rammus. In fact, in low elo, Rammus is considered one of the strongest picks for this patch, along with Lilia and Shyvana.
Mid Lane: Vex, Naafiri, Vladimir
There are a lot of changes in the mid lane for 14.15, but the most OP champions still remain the same as they continue to be unaffected by all the changes the devs have made so far.
Vex continues to be a top-tier mid laner with her powerful burst and ability to engage from long range. Her ability to reset and chain abilities in team fights allows her to dominate mid-game skirmishes and provide significant pressure.
Naafiri also remains to be another mid lane queen, being one of the easiest champions to play, and having the buffs from 14.12 still favouring her coming into patch 14.15.
All eyes should also be on Vladimir, who is set to gain more power in this patch with buffs to items like Cosmic Drive and Storm Surge.
His late-game scaling and sustain in team fights make him a strong pick, especially with the improved synergy between these items and his kit.
Other champions to look out for in case the top picks aren’t available would be Brand, Fizz, Zed, Cassiopeia, Lux, and Xerath.
Aurora, the newest champion, was predictably OP in 14.14 and has received significant nerfs this patch, so it will take a while for us to find out where she sits in 14.15.
In low elo where games usually last longer, the best champions to bring include Fizz, Aurelion Sol, and Annie.
Bottom: Miss Fortune, Draven
Since Riot’s going heavier on item changes to nerf ADCs this patch, the look of the ADC tier list will also slightly shift.
In Patch 14.14, we told everyone to watch out for Miss Fortune, especially with the new heavy AD crit build of Bloodthirster, Essence Reaver, and Infinity Edge.
Well in 14.15, Miss Fortune rises to the OP-tier due to indirect buffs from item changes. As a Bloodthirster rusher who isn’t heavily reliant on Fleet Footwork, she benefits from the nerfs to other ADC items. Her strong laning phase and powerful ultimate make her a great pick for carrying games.
Draven is another ADC who benefits from the item nerfs affecting his competitors. His early-game dominance and ability to snowball with kills make him a high-risk, high-reward pick. If you’re confident in your mechanics, Draven can easily take over games.
Other champions you can choose include Kai’sa and Jinx, who won’t be as OP as the previous patches, but still are solid picks. You can also lean into Twitch, who isn’t affected by any of the item changes and will be on the rise in solo queue this patch.
In low elo, Ashe and Jinx, along with Miss Fortune will be your best bets.
Support: Poppy, Nami
There’s very little change to Supports and their items this patch, so the tier list more or less looks the same this patch, with Poppy and Nami topping the list.
With Poppy leaning into Dead Man’s plate instead of Warmog’s Armor, she will continue to outplay other tanks. Nami on the other hand, will also continue to dominate, as she continues to be unaffected by item nerfs in this recent patch.
Other powerful support picks you can lean into are enchanters like Milio and Seraphine, who have been on the rise coming into Patch 14.15.
In low elo, Seraphine, Zyra, and Lux are priority picks that can help you climb the ranks as well.
The champions listed above are poised to perform exceptionally well in the current patch, so consider adding them to your champion pool for a better chance at climbing the ranks. Happy gaming!
