KT Rolster add three former world champions to its roster.
After being the LCK's third-best team this season, KT Rolster is looking to bolster its squad to eventually challenge for the top spot. The likes of Geon-hee “BeryL” Cho, Chang-hyeon “Pyosik” Hong, and HyeokGyu “Deft” Kim have been reunited under the KT banner after all three players lifted the Summoner's Cup with DRX last season.
Pyosik makes his return to the LCK after spending a season in the LCS with Team Liquid while BeryL has made the swap over after staying with DRX. As for Deft, he joins his former teammates after just one season with Dplus KIA. To round up the line-up, Lee Seung “PerfecT” min make the step up from the Challengers squad.
All four players will join Bo-Seong “bdd” Kwak, who has been one of the LCK's best midlaners. And with that, KT suddenly have a star-studded roster of three players who have won the world championship. However, BeryL is the only player to have won it twice, first with Dplus and the second with DRX. The level of experience he will bring to the roster is unmatched given that he's already won two Worlds grand finals.
KT have steadily improved over the last few seasons with this year being its best to date. They placed third in both the LCK Spring and Summer Splits followed by a third top-eight finish at Worlds. KT's performance during the Summer Split in particular will bode well for the team to replicate it once more having placed first during the group stage matches.
Even its showing at Worlds 2023 was impressive as KT took down Dplus twice during the Swiss Stage to make it to the knockout phase. However, they weren't able to take down any of the LPL teams, which should be the goal for the upcoming season next year.
