London will reportedly play host to MSI 2023.
The Mid-Season Invitational is one of two prestigious events held by Riot Games and it looks like it will be heading back to Europe next year. According to Esports News UK, London will reportedly play host for the upcoming Mid-Season Invitational next year. While nothing has been officially confirmed, this will be Riot's first time returning to the UK since the quarterfinals of Worlds 2015 held in London that year.
The yearly invitational will feature the winning teams from every respective region that will go head-to-head to determine who will be the next MSI champion. This year's rendition took place in Busan, South Korea and saw the likes of Royal Never Give Up take home their third MSI title.
With this being the UK's first time hosting the Mid-Season Invitational, it's also worth noting that it will only be the fourth European country to play host. The likes of Berlin, Paris, and Reykjavík played host for MSI back in 2018 and 2021. While the venue have yet to be officially confirmed, there are rumours that it could very well take place at Wembley.
Of course, there are many other suitable areas that is capable of hosting MSI 2023. This includes the indoor Wembly Arena, the O2 Arena, as well as the Copper Box Arena to name a few. If the last one sounds familiar, it's because it recently played host to the Rocket League London Major.
We will still have to wait for the official announcement from Riot as to when and where exactly MSI 2023 will be held. But if what Esports News UK said is anything to go by, we can expect the next edition of MSI to be in London, UK by the middle of next year.
