Team ROCCAT unveils their 2016 roster

Starting completely from scratch, the European team looks to make the leap towards the top of the pack in the coming EU LCS season.

Team ROCCAT was a solid team last year. With their stylish coach Jakob "YamatoCannon" Mebdi and the dependable tag-team shotcalling of Marcin "Jankos" Jankowski and Oskar "VandeR" Bogdan, the squad jumped from near the bottom standings in the Spring Split all the way to the Summer Playoffs before getting knocked out by Unicorns of Love and subsequently getting defeated by Origen in the Regional Qualifiers.

With the departure of many of their key players as well as their Head Coach, ROCCAT joined many of their LCS peers in scrambling to put something remarkable together out of a wide yet limited free agent pool. With the announcement of their new roster, the results of that scramble look fairly promising with the entirely of the roster being made up of experienced players.

Top Laner Simon "fredy122" Payne comes off an abyssmal season on the now-relegated SK Gaming. Jungler Karim "Airwaks" Benghalia makes the jump from Unicorns of Love. Both Mid Laner Felix "Betsy" Edling and Support Edward "Edward" Abgaryan (formerly known as GoSu Pepper) joins from the now-defunct Gambit Gaming. AD Carry Mohammad "Safir" Tokhi (formerly known as Jebus) makes his return home to Europe after a stint on the NA squad Renegades.

These players have all had decent to quality performances on their respective lower-to-mid-tier teams. Now, ROCCAT hopes to mold their collective talent into a cohesive team and make a run to the top of the ladder in EU. Stepping in YamatoCannon's shoes is Karim "ImSoFresh" Bbahla who will look to lead the team past their humble beginings and over their very stiff competition this coming year.
