MOUZ will be looking to make its mark in Dota 2 once again with an international roster captained by three-time Major champion Seleri.
German organisation MOUZ unveiled its official Dota 2 roster on Friday (9 May) headlined by former
Gaimin Gladiators captain
Melchior “Seleri” Hillenkamp, who was announced as team captain four weeks ago.
Joining Seleri and ImmortalFaith are two notable players from Southeast Asia: Abed Azel “Abed” Yusop and
Nicholas “zeal” Lim. Although Abed spent the past two years competing in his home region with
Blacklist International and, more recently,
Aurora Gaming, he is best known for his time in North America with
Evil Geniuses from 2019 to 2022.
Meanwhile, zeal, who began his career in Southeast Asia, has spent most of his professional time playing for Chinese teams such as LGD Gaming,
Invictus Gaming, and
Yakult Brothers. This move to MOUZ marks the first time both players will compete in the highly competitive European region.
Filling the position 4 role for MOUZ is Marcel “Ekki” Hołowienko, who previously played for
Team Secret and recently departed from
AVULUS.
Kyial “Kami” Tayirov, also known as cutcutcut, will take on MOUZ's carry role. He spent the past seven years competing in the Tier 2 scene in Eastern Europe with teams such as
Team Empire and
Gambit Esports.
Rounding out MOUZ's roster will be coach Moza “Immortal.faith” Daniel, who notably competed alongside Seleri as Gaimin Gladiators' coach in 2022.
MOUZ finalises roster for EWC and TI 2025
MOUZ, formerly known as mousesports, has had a turbulent relationship with Dota 2. Despite its rich history in Dota 2’s early competitive scene, the organisation has repeatedly disbanded and re-entered the game, with limited success so far.
The organisation is better known for its successful Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) lineup, which has risen to be among the Top 3 teams in the world this year. After MOUZ re-entered the Dota 2 scene last March, it began carefully building a promising roster for Valve’s other flagship title.
MOUZ initially picked up three players from Team Tickles, including its current coach, ImmortalFaith. Several other players, including
Tal “Fly” Aizik,
Thiago “Thiolicor” Cordeiro, and
Tobias “Tobi” Buchner, were also trialed for a spot. However, poor results persisted, and eventually MOUZ began a complete rebuild around Seleri in early April, who at that time had just departed from Gaimin Gladiators.
With no major tournaments currently scheduled for MOUZ, the path ahead is clear. The team will next aim to qualify for the two biggest Dota 2 events of the year: the Esports World Cup 2025's Dota 2 competition in July and The International 2025 in September.
