Cipher will join fellow Chrysos Heir Hyacine as the two 5-star characters coming in Honkai: Star Rail version 3.3.
Honkai: Star Rail has unveiled Cipher as the second 5-star character coming to the game alongside its version 3.3 update. Cipher wields the Quantum element and follows the Path of Nihility, making her the second character of that element-Path combo after Silver Wolf.
Cipher, also known as Cifera, was first shown to Honkai: Star Rail players in the Golden Epic Trailer – “Amphoreus' Saga of Heroes” alongside her fellow Flame-Chasers, though she has yet to make an in-game appearance and has only been mentioned during the version 3.0 Trailblaze Missions.
Cipher is a renown thief in Amphoreus, which is only fitting as she is the Chrysos Heir designated to carry the Coreflame of the Trickery Titan Zagreus. Her teaser also cites Okhema and Dolos, the lost city of 300 rogues, as the cities she is affiliated with. However, much about Cipher still remains a mystery at this point – as one can expect from a master thief – and we will most likely find out more about her when she releases in version 3.3.
Honkai: Star Rail version 3.3 is expected to be released in late May, with Cipher set to join the game's roster of playable characters alongside the 5-star Wind Remembrance character Hyacine. Past versions of the game would often see the release of two 5-star characters and one 4-star character, though it is worth noting that no 4-star characters have been released in Honkai: Star Rail 3.x so far. With developer HoYoverse seemingly intent on releasing all 13 Chrysos Heirs as 5-star characters, 4-star characters from Amphoreus may become a rarity. Should a 4-star character be released in version 3.3, HoYoverse is expected to tease them on Thursday (27 March).
Honkai: Star Rail is currently in Version 3.1, which saw the release of two 5-star characters in Tribbie (Quantum Harmony) and Mydei (Imaginary Destruction). The current version will run until 9 April before giving way to Version 3.2, which will see the release of two more 5-star characters in Castorice (Quantum Remembrance) and Anaxa (Wind Erudition).
