Second GTA VI trailer unveils protagonists Jason and Lucia in sunny Vice City

The latest trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI dives into its protagonists Jason and Lucia.

Rockstar Games has finally released a new trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI. Earlier this week, the renowned game developer confirmed that its highly-anticipated open-world sequel would be delayed all the way to 26 May, 2026, which makes for quite the departure from its original Fall 2025 release window.

GTA VI’s second trailer unveils protagonists Jason and Lucia, who stumble into danger when an easy score goes wrong:

Rockstar Games releases second trailer for GTA VI following delay

Rockstar Games has finally released a second trailer for GTA VI, almost two years after releasing the open-world game’s very first trailer in 2023. The new trailer dives into the lives of protagonists Jason and Lucia–two down on their luck citizens of Vice City, committing crimes and capers to make ends meet.

Here’s Rockstar’s description of GTA VI’s story:

Jason and Lucia have always known the deck is stacked against them. But when an easy score goes wrong, they find themselves on the darkest side of the sunniest place in America, in the middle of a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida–forced to rely on each other more than ever if they want to make it out alive.

The trailer also introduces us to the main cast of GTA VI, including Brian Heder, who sounds suspiciously like Hollywood actor Stephen Root (Office Space, Barry). Brian is letting Jason live rent-free at one of his many properties, so long as the latter assists him with a few local shakedowns.

The trailer went live along with an official website for GTA VI, which introduces us to Jason and Lucia, the romantically involved couple at the centre of its story. Jason lives in the Keys and works for local drug runners, but is looking to make a change. Lucia is fresh out of a stint in prison, and seeks to live a good life with Jason no matter the cost.

The website also briefly goes over a few in-game locations, like Vice City, Leonida Keys, Grassrivers, Port Cellhorn, Ambrosia, and Mount Kalaga National Park. We’ll dive deeper into this trailer and all of its new information in our future coverage of GTA VI, so stay tuned!

Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on 26 May, 2026.
