Heroes of Newerth showed more signs of life with the dismissal of rumours of a mobile port and the sudden revitalization of an old social media page.
Heroes of Newerth's social media page showed yet another sign of the classic MOBA's resurrection. Previously, the game already gave fans a glimmer of hope by teasing the possibility of the game's return. This time around, the official Heroes of Newerth Facebook page dismissed the worries of several community members that the game's ressurection will only come through a mobile port.
The community responded with relief as they no longer worried their beloved game would not be getting a proper revival. With the dismissal of a mobile port rumour, the community speculated that a Steam version of Heroes of Newerth is coming. However, that would be hard to realise as Heroes of Newerth will have to once again compete with Dota 2 on its home platform on Steam, with both under Valve Software.
However, a reunion with former publisher Garena might be on the horizon. The Garena Heroes of Newerth Thailand Facebook page recently updated its profile picture with a never-before-seen colour shade of the game's logo. This might signify the return of Heroes of Newerth, but this time under the full management of Garena, as the original studio behind the game, S2 Games, is now defunct.
Their successor under Garena, Frostburn Studios, while still active to this date, has shown no signs of life since they announced the shutdown of the Heroes of Newerth server.
It might be a while until we see new information regarding Heroes of Newerth; however, hope is still on the horizon, as the game's social media page continues to show embers of life.
