Not much is known about upcoming Liyue character Lan Yan, but she’s sure to make an impact.
Genshin Impact has revealed a third character coming to its upcoming Version 5.3 update coming 2025, and it’s Lan Yan.
Lan Yan is a character from Liyue’s Chenyu Vale and, as her character introduction confirms, is a well-regarded Master Rattan Weaver of the Chenyu Vale Artisans Association, and is immensely loved by her community. Need an antique rattan chair fixed? Lan Yan’s the one who can do it for you. Want to learn about the art of weaving rattan? Lan Yan’s the best teacher for the job.
Guests, both young and old, can be seen crowding Lan Yan’s door, waiting for her with requests that are never ignored.
But Lan Yan can’t be often caught by those seeking her aid or presence, as she would rather go up the beautifully lush forested mountains to play by the stream or to gather vines for her craft. Lan Yan is a free spirit who finds comfort in the majesty of Chenyu Vale’s flora and fauna, and if you happen to have the bravery to seek her in the mountains, she will be waiting with a smile.
Lan Yan will wield an Anemo vision, though her weapon and rarity are yet to be revealed. We can surmise however, that Lan Yan will be a 4-star character considering the trend of Genshin Impact’s previous character reveals.
Genshin Impact Version 5.2 dropped on November 20 with Chasca and Lyney headlining the first half's banner runs, as well as additional content with a new map expansion, a new boss, and an Archon Quest Interlude. Genshin Impact's Version 5.3 update will most likely drop in early January 2025, with the Pyro Archon Mavuika and Citlali debuting as playable characters alongside Lan Yan.
