PUBG Mobile x Venom: The Last Dance event kicks off
Tencent has officially kicked off PUBG Mobile’s latest event: a crossover with Venom: The Last Dance, which brings several symbiote-laced features to the battle royale game. In case you missed it, here are the event’s all-new features and abilities:
- Black Symbiote Arm: Grants players special movement abilities like grappling towards fixed objects, pulling enemies closer, and launching themselves for long distances.
- Black Symbiote Warhorses: Transform regular horses into powerful mounts with the Black Symbiote Arm, wielding the Black Symbiote Lance for melee and throwing attacks.
- Black Symbiote Clusters: Locate these special clusters across maps for a higher chance of obtaining the Black Symbiote Arm and encountering Black Symbiote Warhorses.
To celebrate the event, Tencent organised a community gathering in Dadi Cinema, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, attended by 100 PUBG Mobile players (including this GosuGamers writer). The event began with a series of Kahoot! quizzes to test players on their knowledge of the game, before inviting everyone to join a tense mini tournament. Winners were given in-game currency for their efforts, and could additionally score some movie tickets in a lucky draw event later on.
Attendees were then treated to a screening of Venom: The Last Dance, which kicked off with a special animation created specifically for the gathering. In the video, a character interacted with a real-life PUBG Mobile cosplayer, who ran out of sight only to suddenly appear in the video and bond with a Venom-like alien symbiote.
On the in-game collaboration, Tencent Games marketing manager (Malaysia) Adil Hisham said:
We're thrilled with the incredible turnout at our PUBG MOBILE x Venom: The Last Dance community gathering. This collaboration has been a fantastic way to celebrate one of Marvel's most captivating characters and offer our passionate Malaysian players a unique experience. Seeing the energy and camaraderie at the event further solidifies the incredible PUBG MOBILE community.
The PUBG Mobile x Venom: The Last Dance event will run from October 18 to November 10, 2024.
