BOOM Esports secured a playoff slot after a 2-1 win against Influence Rage in their final match in the group stage. On the other hand, FUT Esports were eliminated from the tournament after not securing a single series in the three matches they played in the Honor of Kings Championship 2024 group stage.
The champion of the Philippines Qualifier waited until their final match against Influence Rage to secure a slot in the next stage after Team Secret battered them 2-0 on day 4 of the group stage. The determination to qualify for the playoff showed in the first game as they didn't pull any stops with their gameplay, securing the first game with an aggressive Dun and Zhang Fei combo.
However, their aggressiveness was put on hold when Influence Rage countered them with a solid defensive lineup in game 2. Heino and Dolia completely dismantled any engagement attempt by BOOM Esports. The last game was all in Azar's hands when he picked Meng Ya to take on Influence Rage's late-game potential. Ultimately, their gamble paid off as Azar's Meng Ya was untouchable until the end with a strong cover by Augran and Allain.
Another team from the Philippines, Blacklist International, ended their journey in the group stage with a win over FUT Esports. However, they must wait another day as Mahadewa and Dominator Esports will duke it out. Both of them need to get a victory to secure a slot in the playoff, or a three-way tiebreaker will happen.
Rounding up day 5 of the group stage was a series between Nova Esports against Team Vitality and Impunity facing Revenant Esports. The Malaysian team completely outclassed their opponent by winning 2-0, while Revenant Esports took a 2-0 loss against Impunity. This win by Nova Esports meant they got the playoff spot, while Team Vitality must accept their elimination.
The Honor of Kings Championship 2024 group stage continues on its last day with four big matches. Team Secret will open the day with a match against Alpha7 Esports, followed by a battle for the top seed between Black Shrew Esports and Fearless Esports. The day's third match will be Kagendra facing Nova Esports, and Dominator will close the day with a series with Mahadewa.
