Get ready to haunt the battlegrounds as the spooky “Pocong” of Malaysian folklore.

PUBG Mobile is getting spooky in the spirit of Halloween this October with the launch of a Malaysian Ghost Stories collection called “Jelmaan”, the Malaysian word for ‘sightings’, from October 8 to November 11.

As part of this collection, PUBG Mobile players can acquire the limited restless “Pocong” set, which includes four themed items specially designed by local Malaysian game designers. Pocong refers to a ghost that wears a burial shroud in both Malaysian and Indonesian folklore, so equipping this set will surely cause chills to run up the spines of your enemies in the battlegrounds. The items in the set include:

  • The Restless Pocong, outfit set
  • The Pocong Shadow, the DBS gun
  • The Pocong Wanderer, a backpack
  • Elusive Pocong, a frying pan

The highlight of this set has to be the Pocong Shadow, which transforms arguably the most beloved shotgun in the PUBG Mobile community, the DBS, into a spooky weapon befitting the season. The “Pocong” set is at Mythic level and can only be obtained via the lucky chance event. Each attempt costs as low as 10 UC so players don’t have to worry about breaking their bank.

The “Jelmaan” collection’s release notably follows a partnership between PUBG MOBILE and German car manufacturer Volkswagen, which featured the infamous “Yellow Beetle”. The tale of Karak Highway’s infamous “Yellow Beetle” is well known among Malaysians and now players have the chance to spook their enemies in the battlegrounds with it.

"We are always paying attention to our PUBG MOBILE community on what makes them enjoy the game even more. To enhance our current Version 3.4, the introduction of these characters can strengthen our mission to make PUBG MOBILE made for Malaysians,” said Eugene Chin Yuan Hao, Country Manager for Malaysia at Tencent Games, in a press release.
