Red Bull Gaming's iconic series of Age of Empires esports tournaments, Red Bull Wololo, has made its grand return with Red Bull Wololo: El Reinado after a two-year hiatus.
Red Bull Wololo: El Reinado features 14 of the best players competing across four titles from the Age of Empires franchise for their cut of a combined $196,000 prize pool. The four titles to be played include classic titles Age of Empires I and Age of Empires II, the franchise's most recent new entry in Age of Empires IV, as well as the recently-released remaster of the franchise's take on various real-world mythologies, Age of Mythology: Retold.
The tournament will also be hosted across four days from October 3 to October 6 in a venue befitting a professional esports tournament for the most iconic historical real-time strategy franchise: the Castillo de Almodóvar del Río, a Roman fort-turned-Arab Muslim castle in Córdoba, Spain that still stands to this day.

Red Bull Wololo: El Reinado marks the return of the iconic Red Bull Wololo tournament series to the Age of Empires esports scene after a two-year hiatus since Red Bull Wololo: Legacy, which was hosted in Heidelberg, Germany and Hanoi, Vietnam back in October 2022.
Red Bull Wololo: El Reinado features 14 of the best players competing across four titles from the Age of Empires franchise – including Age of Empires I, Age of Empires II, Age of Empires IV, and Age of Mythology: Retold, fighting for their cut of a combined $196,000 prize pool from October 3 to October 6 in the Castillo de Almodóvar del Río.
The Age of Empires I, Age of Empires IV, and Age of Mythology: Retold events will each feature two participating players while the Age of Empires II event will have eight competitors present. Even if the original Age of Empires II came out all the way back in 1999, it remains the most popular title in the Age of Empires franchise thanks in large part to its excellent remaster, Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. As a result, it also enjoys the most vibrant esports scene out of all the Age of Empires titles.
