Get ready to go Plus Ultra in Overwatch 2 with five exclusive skins of My Hero Academia characters.
Blizzard Entertainment has announced an exciting new collaboration between its hero shooter Overwatch 2 and hit shonen manga and anime series My Hero Academia (MHA), which will see five popular MHA characters take the field as exclusive legendary skins for five Overwatch characters. The collaboration will launch on October 17 and runs until October 30.
The collaboration features both heroes and villains from MHA, so there's something here for all fans of the series. On the side of the heroes will be Tracer as the series' main character Deku, Juno as Uravity, and Reinhardt fittingly as the symbol of peace himself All Might. Fans of MHA's villain cast can field Kiriko as Himiko Toga and Reaper as Tomura Shigaraki.
Blizzard said in an official blog post that each MHA-themed skin “is designed to capture the essence of these beloved characters, giving you the chance to dominate the battlefield with their unique style and flair.” You can check them out in action in the collaboration's trailer below:
Overwatch 2 players can collect all five exclusive MHA legendary skins on the Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia Mega Bundle, which includes the skins themselves alongside additional cosmetic items. Five sprays and a ‘mighty’ charm are also available for free by simply playing the game during the collaboration's duration.
Blizzard has yet to announce full pricing details for the Overwatch 2 x My Hero Academia Mega Bundle. With that said, individual legendary skins in Overwatch 2 typically cost 1,900 Overwatch Coins, so that fact should help give players a ballpark for how much the bundle may end up costing.
“The quirky and colorful designs highlight the coolest aspects of these characters, allowing heroes, villains, and their ideas of justice to collide on the front lines. Whether you’re heroically fighting as All Might Reinhardt or causing chaos as the villainous Shigaraki Reaper, you’ll find that each skin in this collection is a tribute to the power and determination that defines these iconic figures and worlds,” said Blizzard in the collaboration's announcement.
This isn't the first time that Overwatch has collaborated with popular anime and manga series, as Blizzard's hero shooter also had prior tie-ins with One Punch Man and Cowboy Bebop.
