Is Lingsha going to be the dedicated 5-star support for Firely?
Honkai: Star Rail has revealed that Lingsha will be the second 5-star character that will be added to the game's roster in version 2.5 in early September. She will wield the Fire element and follow the Path of Abundance, making her primary role that of a healer – though we also expect her to have additional utility built into her kit.
Lingsha is a member of the dragon-human hybrid species Vidyadhara, making her the third playable character from this group after Bailu and Dan Heng. While Lingsha does not sport horns like Dan Heng (in his Imbibitor Lunae form) or a tail like Bailu, her draconic heritage can be seen in the scales and red coloration of her arms and legs.
She was born and raised in the Xianzhou Luofu but later left the worldship to follow her master, a person called ‘Dan Zhu’, after they were banished. She now returns to the Luofu to become the new Cauldron Master of the Alchemy Commission.
Lingsha is described as an intelligent and quick-witted healer with a sharp sense of smell she often uses to diagnose illnesses, an ability she likely obtained from her Vidyadhara heritage. She is also said to be adept at dealing with complicated social relationships, even using incense to calm the minds of others, and is able to hide her inner emotions very well behind a calm and serene expression.
While this will be the first time that Lingsha will ever appear in Honkai: Star Rail, she should be a familiar figure to Honkai Impact 3rd veterans.
Lingsha bears a very striking resemblance to Nuwa, a character who appeared in Honkai Impact 3rd's story as a scientist under Fire Moth during the game's Previous Era. Similar to Lingsha, Nuwa also has reptilian aspects to her design, such as scales that blend into sleeves on her arms and a snake wrapping around her body. Nuwa's Chinese name in Honkai Impact 3rd, Dānzhū, is also the name used by Lingsha's master.
Lingsha will be voiced by Whitney Holland in the game's English dub, Maeda Kaori in the Japanese dub, Rao Zi Jun in the Chinese dub, and Jang Ye-na in the Korean dub.
Lingsha will be the second 5-star character to be released in Honkai: Star Rail version 2.5 alongside the previously-revealed 5-star Wind Hunt character Feixiao.
Honkai: Star Rail version 2.5 is expected to be released in early September. But before that comes version 2.4, which will see the release of three new characters: the 5-star Physical Destruction character Yunli, the 5-star Fire Nihility character Jiaoqiu, and a new Hunt version of the 4-star character March 7th.
