Henry Cavill’s final outing as Geralt of Rivia will hit Netflix in two parts.

Netflix has released its first teaser trailer for The Witcher Season 3, which is set to feature Henry Cavill’s final appearance as the titular Witcher, Geralt of Rivia. The trailer also confirms that Season 3 will drop in two parts this summer, with Part 1 premiering on June 29 and Part 2 on July 27.

Watch the teaser below:

The short teaser begins with Geralt doing what he does best: drinking potions, pulling out his silver sword and preparing to slay monsters, whether they be human or beast in nature. The rest of the trailer keeps things vague, but we do catch a glimpse of Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri searching for each other in what appears to be a dark maze. We also see returning characters from the series, such as Jaskier, in brief snippets from upcoming episodes.

Given that previous seasons and The Witcher: Blood Origin spinoff laid so much groundwork for the Wild Hunt, we can also expect the spectral threat to reappear in Season 3. While the rest of this teaser is pretty light on plot details, book readers should be able to pick up a few clues on the content this season is going to adapt - mainly from the last third of Time of Contempt. The first two seasons did a lot of setting up for the future of this series, and Season 3 should see these efforts really start to pay off.

The upcoming season will also be bittersweet for fans, seeing as it serves as a last hurrah for Henry Cavill in his titular role of Geralt of Rivia. In a series of unfortunate events, the actor left the role shortly after announcing his return as Superman in the DC universe. That decision was then reversed, and Cavill chose to pursue a Warhammer 40,000 series as his next big project. Liam Hemsworth (The Hunger Games) has been chosen to replace Cavill from Season 4 of The Witcher and onwards.
