Here's a guide to master the Empress Dowager, Queen mother of Yong, Mi Yue in Honor of Kings.
Honor of Kings’ resident empress dowager of Yong, Mi Yue, has joined the Gorge's lineup. Her prowess in absorbing the life out of her opponent and high survivability make her extremely proficient in aggressive playstyle.
Mi Yue is a formation mage, which means she needs to position herself correctly to maximise her usefulness. She is best played as a Clash Lane although she's also viable in the Jungle. However, for this guide, we are going to focus her as a Clash Lane. Here’s her skill breakdown, along with her equipment, arcana, and tips on how to play her effectively:
Skills breakdown
Passive: Eternal Youth
Mi Yue summons shadow servants using skills, which automatically attack nearby enemies. Each strike deals (50+7% Magical Attack) magical damage while restoring (20+0.5% extra Health) Health to her. Strikes deal an extra (80+14% Magical Attack) magical damage to minions and deal half damage against monsters.
She gains 30 Shadow Power when summoning shadow servants, which grants up to 30 Movement Speed and a 10% bonus to all healing.
She can have up to 6 shadow servants around her at a time. When Shadow Power reaches zero, the servants will disappear.
Skill 1: Dark Transfer
Mi Yue unleashes shadow energy, dealing (200 to 300+24% Magical Attack) magical damage to enemies in its path.
Upon using this skill again, she manifests herself at the shadow energy’s location and deals (200 to 300+24% Magical Attack) magical damage to nearby enemies.
She summons a shadow servant if she hits an enemy at the new location.
Skill 2: Ravenous Tether
Mi Yue sends out a tether forward, linking to the first enemy hit for up to 4s. Every 0.5s, she slows the linked target by 2.5%, steals 10 to 30 Physical Attack and 30 to 105 Magical Attack, deals (25 to 80+7% Magical Attack) magical damage, and recovers (10 to 20+0.25% extra Health) Health.
The tether will break if the distance between her and her target exceeds 1.000 units. If the tether remains intact for the full 4s, she will summon a shadow servant.
Passive: Her Basic Attack is enhanced, dealing (40 to 8+100% Physical Attack+ 20% Magical Attack) magical damage, slowing enemies by 10%, and granting 10 Shadow Power.
Ultimate: Umbral Moon
Mi Yue disappears into the shadows for 2s, removing all debuffs and gaining 30% Movement Speed and immunity to all effects.
Upon disappearing and returning, she deals (400 to 720+53% Magical Attack) magical damage to nearby enemies.
Arcana
This build uses four Arcana for Mi Yue: ten Red Moon, eight Hunt, two Avarice, and ten Mind’s Eye. These Arcana focus on enhancing her attack speed and giving her Magical Attack and Magical Pierce. Mi Yue uses her Basic Attack as her source of damage, so an early Attack Speed boost can go for a long run.

+10% Cooldown Reduction
+1,000 Max Health

Passive - Storm Strike
Increases Basic Attack damage by 40. After a critical hit, increases Attack Speed by 20% and Movement Speed by 5% for 3 seconds.
Situational: Sage's Sanctuary, Moon Goddess, Destiny
These are essential situational items for the late game. Sage’s Sanctuary provides a second life, while Moon Goddess is an upgraded version of Splendor. If you are getting burst a lot, Destiny can be a great alternative to give you a little bit of an edge to deal last-second damage.
How to Play Mi Yue
Mi Yue's early game isn't too strong, as she needs to be careful with burst damage early on. She has to turn a combat disadvantage to her favour with her second skill while waiting for her ultimate to be active. Luckily, she is highly capable of surviving with her first skill.
Once she has Umbral Moon, Mi Yue can look to play more aggressively, as she can dodge a lot of skills with ease as long she times her ultimate right. This is the time to snowball if you have an excellent laning period.
In the late game, Mi Yue needs to be on top of as many heroes as she can during her ultimate to deal a massive amount of damage and recover her health. She also needs to target the enemy backline with her second skill to weaken their damage-dealing potential.
With careful positioning and timing, Mi Yue can turn a disadvantage into an advantage for her. She needs to use her survivability in the early game to snowball into the late game.
