Aurora take the long road to get their spot at The International 2024

Aurora swept through TNC 2:0 to claim the second spot for The International 2024 in Denmark.

After suffering an unexpected and disappointing defeat at the hands of Talon yesterday, Aurora came back today to claim what was always expected to be theirs – a spot at The International 2024 for SEA.

Aurora was always primed as one of the favorites for claiming a spot for the region –  having taken a consistent 7-9th place finish at various international events. But yesterday Talon flipped the narrative and swept through Aurora to stake their claim on the first slot.

The first match between Aurora and TNC was over one hour long despite the game seeming to be in their favor thanks to a difficult Tinker in the mix. The second match was much more one-sided almost from the get-go. With their victory, they were able to seize the spot they were expected to take yesterday.

Only one spot is left for The International 2024 – for Western Europe.

The International 2024 (TI13)

The International 2024 is set to take place in Copenhagen, Denmark in September at the Royal Arena. This will mark the second time The International is coming to Europe, but the first time when, hopefully, fans will be able to attend. The first time Valve tried to bring its most prestigious tournament to Europe was in 2020 when the pandemic hit the world. TI10 was postponed for 2021 and moved from Sweden to Romania. Although tickets were sold, a new wave of coronavirus forced Valve to refund all tickets and hold the tournament in an empty stadium in Bucharest. Since then, TI moved to Singapore in 2022 and last year it returned home, to Seattle.
