PGL Dota 2 Wallachia Season 1 has invited ten teams to participate in the first event planned in May.
One week ago PGL announced their plans for a three-year Dota 2 Tournament Marathon with at least eight events boasting $1 Million prize pools between 2024 and 2026.
PGL Dota 2 Wallachia Season 1 is scheduled in Bucharest, Romania, from May 10th to 19th, 2024. The event has a prize pool of $1 million. The first bits of information regarding the invited teams, qualifiers, and format have been released.
Ten teams have been directly invited. While rosters such as Falcons and BetBoom come as no surprise to anyone, other teams such as Heroic and Team Secret have left a few scratching their heads.

DOTA 2 Wallachia: Season #1 is divided into two main stages: the Group Stage and the Playoffs.
Group Stage Format
- 16-team Swiss format
- 10 invited teams directly seeded into the competition
- 6 teams from the qualifiers
- Top 8 teams will advance to the Playoffs
Playoffs
- Top 8 teams from the Group Stage
- Double-elimination bracket
- All matches are BO3
- The Grand Final is BO5
