The last NA hope, nouns, were crushed by Gaimin Gladiators in a very quick 2:0 sweep on the main stage of The International 2023.
After six years away, The International 2023 has returned to Seattle, Washington on one of the most beautiful stages yet. If you didn't feel it was TI yet, that was for good reason. Until this point, it had been dubbed “The Road to The International”. The opening ceremony and Gabe's appearance signalled the start of the main event and brought fans around the world to tears and cheers.
The first matchup on the stage was nothing less than intense even before the start. Elimination was on the line. One team has been responsible for the Reign of Terror in the DPC 2022-23 season —Gaimin Gladiators. One team has been the underdog, the NA representatives for the home field, and has had everything to prove. It was a classic David vs Goliath match-up.

Gaimin GladiatorsIn the first match of the game, nouns went with a first-pick Brew Master. GG took Quinn's infamous Pango. When asked about this after the draft, coach Filipe "Astini" Astini stated,
“We knew he (Quinn) would do it. We were totally prepared for it”.
In the first six seconds of The International, nouns took first blood. Both teams typically play very fast, but nouns would need to stall the tempo from GG in order to get to the mid/late game to get the upper hand. Gladiators knew this and went full speed in their aggression and objectives, mounting up the pressure on nouns.
Nouns missed their timing and Gaimin Gladiators punished them heavily. They gave nouns no space to breathe and when things looked to be almost at the end 24 minutes in, the NA team was able to hang on and defend their ancients. A few moments later they were able to take another big breath, trying to hold the game steady. However, the lack of damage coming out from nouns was a major issue and they just couldn't do much as they watched Gaimin Gladiators push them down and take a dominant first game victory.
In the second match of the series, nouns went first pic Spectre and DarkSeer, the first time playing the hero in Seattle. Gaimin Gladiators took an aggressive lineup. Once more, nouns had difficulty keeping up with them. If the last game was fast, this one seemed to be even faster. A lane of barracks was down before the first Roshan was taken. Every objective down by 25 minutes and GG took the game and the series victory.
nouns goes home in 7-8th place with $77,910 in their pockets.

The International 2023 Main Event format
Main Event - October 20 - October 22 (Playoffs Weekend) & October 27 - October 29 (Finals Weekend), 2023
- Sixteen teams play in a double-elimination bracket
- Eight teams begin in the Upper Bracket, and eight in the Lower Bracket
- Grand Final is Bo5, all other series are Bo3
The International 2023 Broadcasts
The event will be officially streamed in five different languages - English, Chinese, Russian, Spanish, and Portuguese. In addition, there will be other streams with various languages available for fans across the globe.
