Blacklist International down to three

Two players along with the assistant coach have already departed from the Filipino outfit Blacklist International.

We are about a month before the big post-TI shuffle will kick off, but for those who fell short of a spot at the most important tournament of the year, the planning for the next season can already start.

Blacklist International made their entrance into the Dota 2 scene at the beginning of this year’s Dota Pro Circuit and after a couple of roster changes and role swaps made early in the season, they managed to make a mark in the Southeast Asia region.

By the time the DPC reached the Summer Tour, Blacklist International were ready to contest a major slot and made it to the last Major of the year, the Bali Major. But, despite having seasoned players, Blacklist placed in the bottom six in Bali and had to take the regional qualifiers road for The International 2023.

SEA had only one ticket up for grabs in the regional qualifiers for TI12 and Blacklist came extremely close to claiming it. They reached the grand finals, but SMG had their numbers. Through the qualifier bracket, Blacklist lost twice to SMG, in the upper bracket finals and in the grand finals, ending their qualifier campaign with a painful 0-5 game record against them.

Blacklist International roster adjustment

Looking ahead to the next competitive season, Blacklist will continue their journey in the Dota 2 field without Karl Matthew "Karl" Baldovino and Damien "kpii" Chok in the mid and offlane, respectively.

“Their contracts have come to an end and are not being renewed,” mentioned Blacklist International in their goodbye post on X.  “Their contributions as part of Blacklist Rivalry will always be remembered and we will cherish the time we had together. We wish Karl, Kpii, and Xepher the best in the next step of their careers.”

Additionally, the organization also parts ways with Kenny "Xepher" Deo, who joined the team on an assistant coach position just ahead of the TI12 regional qualifiers.
