Nigma Galaxy's talisman Miracle, who had taken a break to address health issues, is back playing with the team after Ammar was made inactive.
Till yesterday, Nigma Galaxy were not meant to be a part of DreamLeague Season 19. But with PSG.LGD unable to make it due to visa issues, the Middle East based team was able to get a place for themselves. But that isn’t the only big news coming from Nigma Galaxy today. Earlier in the day, they mentioned that Ammar “Ammar” Alassaf was being moved to the inactive roster.
Nigma have had a tough season. They survived the 2023 DPC Winter Tour by the skin of their teeth, but could not survive the fall in the Spring Tour, and were relegated to Division II of the Western European DPC League. There was always the possibility that the team could opt for roster changes before the final DPC tour of the year, and it seems that is the case, at least for DreamLeague Season 19. Nigma Galaxy revealed that Ammar will be replaced by the team’s long term talisman, Amer "Miracle-" Al-Barkawi.
Miracle was a part of Nigma’s quest to make it to TI11 last season, but at the start of the 2022-2023 season, the team announced that he would be taking a break to address health issues. His replacement surprised a few as Ammar has traditionally played offlane, and Miracle has been the position 1 player for Nigma, either from the mid lane or the safe lane. The experiment didn’t work out, as Nigma tried a lot of different combinations between their three cores. With the return of Miracle, they can go back to their traditional roles.
What is unknown is whether this will be a permanent change for the rest of the season, or only a temporary one for DreamLeague Season 19. If Miracle is back to good health again, there’s a good chance that this is the end of the road for Ammar as a Nigma player. We will know more on that in the days to come when the shuffle before the final DPC tour of the season begins.
