Execration join the fray at ESL One Berlin Major with another strong performance in the Dota Pro Circuit regional league.
Execration placed first in the SEA Division I league in the previous Tour and are on the verge to repeat the feat in the Spring Tour. While the league schedule is not over and Talon Esports, who still have two series to go cold steal the first place in SEA Division I league, the three teams heading to the ESL One Berlin Major have been decided. Execration join Talon and Team SMG at the Major.
This will mark their Execration’s second Major appearance in a row this year, but more importantly, it gives them the opportunity to show that they are more than just the SEA top team.
Back in February, XctN came to the Lima Major as the top seed from their region, but had a rather disastrous group stage run and didn’t make it to the playoffs stage.
Right after the Major, the team lost its coach, Park "March" Tae-won, who has switched continents and is now working with Nigma Galaxy. Like many of the fans out there, the panel on the official SEA DPC league broadcast were curious about what could have possibly changed for the team to ensure a different outcome in Berlin. The answer came prompt: “Lina.”
With Lina nerfed after the first Major of the year and Visage, one of Execrations’ staple heroes, untouched by the latest patch, the hopes are high for the Filipino team, especially that before the major, they will also play in the first season of ESL One Pro Tour at DreamLeague Season 19, which starts on the 9th of April.
ESL One Berlin Major will unfold April 26 - May 7 with a total of 18 teams qualified via DPC regional leagues coming to compete for a share of the $500,000 prize pool and 2,700 DPC points.
