After almost two years of grind through a difficult pandemic time, Vikin.gg announced the dissolution of the Dota 2 team.
Vikin.gg formed at the end of 2019 aiming to nurture a young generation of players. Along with coach ImmortalFaith, the young roster managed to take the best in the Europe scene by surprise. When the competitive scene shifted to an online-only schedule, Vikin.gg thrived by playing through over 30 tournaments in 2020 alone.
They qualified for the upper division in the first season of 2021 Dota Pro Circuit, but despite being able to take down the likes of OG, Team Liquid and Team Nigma in the past, they couldn’t match them in the DPC matches and dropped to the lower division of the second season.
Although they tried to keep the roster intact through “good and bad,” they had to tinker with the line-up when relegation was on the line and they welcomed Maurice "KheZu" Gutmann aboard. Having to play the second season of DPC leagues through Europe's lower division, they crushed all opposition there to place first with a clean 7-0 series score.
Unfortunately, they couldn’t do the same in the TI10 regional qualifiers and less than a week after they lost the final battle for a spot at The International 10, the organization announced the release of the roster with no other explanations.
