TI9 tickets go on sale Friday, May 24th

Tickets for The International 9 will go on sale this coming Friday, May 24th, sold as two-day bundles.

The time has finally come that fans can purchase their tickets to TI9, with the playoffs scheduled to take place in front of a live audience from August 20-25th at the Mercedes Benz Arena in Shanghai, China.

With the big event taking place in China, there are a few changes to the ticket sales process than in previous years.

The tickets will be sold in two-day bundles, the weekday bundles for the price of CNY 499 (~ $72 USD) each and the weekend bundle for the price of CNY 2099 (~304 USD). It is slightly higher (approximately 50%) than last year's prices where ~$95 USD granted you entrance to the first four days of the event and ~$190 USD gave you access to the final two days.

Battlepass owners will receive a perk as well this year.

To help show our appreciation for the community that supports Dota 2, Battle Pass owners and Dota Plus members with subscriptions active prior to the time of this announcement (6:00 AM on Tuesday, May 21st China Standard Time) will receive early access to purchase their tickets. Eligible users will find an access code in the Dota 2 Client.

Many believe this is an attempt to filter out a large number of bot purchases that have plagued sales in the past and given scalpers easy access to exploit prices and fans.

Sales for fans inside of China will be available via Damai starting at 12:00 PM China Standard Time on May 24th. Purchases will require an access code from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, and will open to all customers at 1:15 PM. A national Chinese citizen ID is required to complete all Damai purchases.

Sales outside of China will be available via Universe starting at 9:00 PM China Standard Time (15:00 CEST) on May 24th. Purchases will require an access code from 9:00 PM – 10:00 PM (15:00 -16:00 CEST), and will open to all customers at 10:00 PM (16:00 CEST).

If you are unsure when sales begin in your time zone, please use this time zone converter and also visit the Ticketing FAQ for more information.

As per usual, it is highly recommended that you prepare your Damai or Universe account and log in before tickets go on sale to help ensure a smooth purchasing experience.
