OG reveal new European Dota 2 roster to be coached by N0tail

OG have finalised its European Dota 2 roster by signing a lineup of veterans and fresh faces alike.

Iconic organisation OG has officially finalised its European Dota 2 roster after spending over a month testing a lineup of mostly trial players. The new squad will be led by OG founder and former star player Johan “N0tail” Sundstein, who played a key role in the team's back-to-back The International (TI) victories in 2018 and 2019.

OG officially welcomed German midlaner Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau and Ukrainian position 5 support Ivan “Kidaro” Bondarev, with Stormstormer beginning his trial with the team in early April while Kidaro had been on trial since early April. Meanwhile, young Kazakhstani player Tamir “daze” Tokpanov had signed to OG’s active roster since February and will continue in the position 4 support role.

Dutch player Indji “Shad” Lub joins OG on loan from Natus Vincere and will take on the carry role. He is a well-known figure in the Tier 2 scene, having competed since 2019. Rounding out the roster is Serbian offlaner Mihajlo “MikSa`” Jovanovic, best known for his time in Eastern Europe and most recently with Nemiga Gaming.

OG embarks on a new journey

The past two years have been incredibly rough for OG. Its last roster iteration to achieve noteworthy results was the lineup that featured young talent like Ammar “ATF” Assaf and Bozhidar “bzm” Bogdanov. Since that “new generation OG” left the team one by one, OG struggled to assemble a team with potential, leading to continuous roster shuffles and deteriorating results.

OG started the year with a notable stack of big names, fielding Thai carry Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon, TI 2022 winner Leon “Nine” Kirilin, team stalwart Sébastien “Ceb” Debs, rising British support Matthew “Ari” Walker, and TI 2018 runner-up Jian Wei “xNova-” Yap. On paper, this roster looked like a top contender, however, their results didn’t live up to expectations.

After months of struggle, the roster gradually disbanded from early January to March this year. OG then began cautiously assembling a new team, trialing players for a month. Players like Stefan “Ulnit” Gavrila, Cedric “Davai Lama” Deckmyn, and Altanginj “423” Bilguun went through the trial process, but eventually, only Stormstormer and Kidaro made it to the final squad.

The organisation has also broadened its reach by signing a renowned Peruvian stack to form OG.LATAM, which will compete in the upcoming DreamLeague Season 26 as the team's Latin American division.

With OG’s finalized Western European roster, the organisation now hosts two complete lineups. This marks a new chapter for OG, especially with N0tail himself now leading the charge as head coach for the main squad. The lineup is locked in for the remainder of the season and will prepare to qualify for the biggest Dota 2 tournaments of the year: The International 2025 and the Esports World Cup 2025.

OG’s European Dota 2 roster:

  1. Indji “Shad” Lub
  2. Daniel “Stormstormer” Schoetzau
  3. Mihajlo “MikSa`” Jovanovic
  4. Tamir “daze” Tokpanov
  5. Ivan “Kidaro” Bondarev
  6. Johan “N0tail” Sundstein (coach)
