DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major qualifiers

 

The DreamLeague Season 11 Stockholm Major open and closed qualifier information has been released. 

As the second Major and Minor of the new 2018-2019 season are getting ready to commence, the DreamLeague Season 11 Major qualifiers will be getting ready to kick off as well. Taking place during the Chongqing Major, the open qualifiers will see some of the newer formations and aspiring teams battle it out for a place in the closed qualifiers, among their more successful peers of the season. 

Eight teams per region will be participating in the closed qualifiers - two from each open qualifier event and four invited teams. The invited teams will be announced in approximately two more days. 

Schedule for the Open Qualifiers:

  • January 24 – Qualifier 1: Open bracket up to RO16
  • January 25 – Qualifier 1: RO16, RO8, RO4 – Top 2 move to Closed Qualifier
  • January 26 – Qualifier 2: Open bracket up to RO16
  • January 27 – Qualifier 2: RO16, RO8, RO4 – Top 2 move to Closed Qualifier

 

Schedule for the Close Qualifiers:

Closed Group 1 (SA/CIS/SEA)

  • February 1:
    • Group: A/B Initial. A/B Winners Match
  • February 2:
    • Group: A/B Losers Match. A/B Decider Match
    • Bracket: Winner Round 1. Lower Round 1 
  • February 3:
    • Bracket: Winner Final. Lower Round 2. Lower Final
       

Closed Group 2 (NA/EU/CN)

  • February 4:
    • Group: A/B Initial. A/B Winners Match
  • February 5:
    • Group: A/B Losers Match. A/B Decider Match
    • Bracket: Winner Round 1. Lower Round 1 
  • February 6:
    • Bracket: Winner Final. Lower Round 2. Lower Final
       

Structure for the Close Qualifiers:

  • 2 GSL Groups of 4
  • Results seed into 8-team Double Elimination bracket
  • Top half into the Upper Brackets 
  • Bottom half into the Lower Brackets
  • All games will be best-of-three

 

Registration for the Open Qualifiers is not open as of yet, but expected to be sometime before January 14th, so interested teams should continue to keep an eye out!

The Stockholm Major is expected to be held from March 14-24, 2019 as the third Major of the new season Sixteen teams will be competing for the lion's share of the $1,000,000 prize pool and 15,000 DPC points. 

The last few days of the Major will be played at Annexet, Stockholm. Annexet has a capacity of 3,950 people and usually hosts concerts and ice hockey matches.
