After a day of playoffs, LDI, paiN Gaming and OpTic Gaming were eliminated from BTS Summit 9.
The first casualties have hit BTS Summit 9 after the first day of the playoff brackets. paiN Gaming were the first to drop after a full three-game series against Let's Do It. Their only win was flanked by two hard-fought losses against the Polish squad, showing grit and determination to hold on.
Fnatic were able to find their groove and what was needed to close out BOTH of their series in 2:0 sweeps. Coming from behind, capitalizing on advantages and opportunities, putting forth a fighting spirit, the SEA team managed to advance to the lower bracket finals. OpTic Gaming continues to show some weakness in being able to close out games and losing their early advantages. The good news — they will have two weeks to fine-tune their strategies and reset before TI8.
On the other side of the brackets, Evil Geniuses and VGJ.Storm once again faced off, and once again EG absolutely shellacked their NA counterparts. The first match of the series took a shocking 16 minutes to close out with a 19:3 victory. The second match was a 'little' better, giving fans double the playtime to watch at least. With their loss, VGJ.Storm will face off against Fnatic. If they can win that series, they will have a chance to exact their revenge on EG and reclaim their dignity.
Action will conclude tonight at 18:00 CEST with the lower bracket finals, followed by the grand finals.
