Effect Gaming has called it quits after struggling to find significant results during the last 18 months - including two bottom finishes in Pro Circuit 2017-2018 events.
Still in China and hot off their participation at DAC 2018, Effect already announced the parting of ways with their Dota 2 roster and an end to the organization as a whole for now.
Yuri Hermantraut, CEO of the organization stated in the published release:
Only days before the team headed to DAC 2018, Effect had announced that they parted ways with their midplayer Igor "iLTW" Filatov due to 'unsatisfactory results with the team recently' and Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok would be standing in for the event. Despite having the veteran CIS player on the carry role the team took a dismal 13-14th place ranking, finding only one win in the group stage. The results were no better than their last appearance at ESL One Katowice last month where they ended in 13-16th place.
There has been no word yet if the core members of the team will continue to compete together for the upcoming Pro Circuit qualifiers or if they will go their separate ways.
Effect Gaming roster:
Roman "Resolut1on" Fominok (standin)
Andrey "Afoninje" Afonin
Vasily "AfterLife" Shishkin
Rinat "KingR" Abdullin
Igor "Maden" Modenov
Arseniy "ArsZeeqq" Usov (coach)
