Dota 2 Staff Cup, a casual Dota 2 tournament hosted twice a year for the staff working behind the scenes in eSports, came to a conclusive end a few hours back.
The fifth edition of Dota 2 Staff Cup witnessed as many as sixteen teams participate, with teams varying across many known organisations such as GD Studio, Fnatic, WePlay.TV, Team Liquid, StarLadder, Millenium, joinDOTA, and yours truly, GosuGamers - to name a few.
GosuGamers' participating team managed to pull through the play-offs, but lost to our friends over at joinDOTA, a team led my former MYM Captain, Jacob 'Maelk' Toft-Anderson, in the semi-finals; a step ahead as compared to the knock-out handed to us in the previous iteration of staff cup's play-offs.
The surprising factor, was however, the French team Millenium who managed to defeat Dmitriy 'LighTofHeaveN' Kupriyanov led WePlay.TV, and become the eventual winners by defeating 4G1G led by Maelk in the grand finals of the tournament. This is the second time that a French team has won the staff cup two times in a row, albeit, handing defeat to 4G1G for the second time consecutively in the grand finals.
Placings:
Winners: Millenium
Runners-up: 4G1G
Second runners-up: GosuGamers &
WePlay.TV
Lastly, we would like to thank Kibyu, the man behind Dota 2 Staff Cup for organising this wonderful event. We hope for many such events to grace us in the future. That being said, it's time to get back to work!
