Four teams have already secured a spot in the playoffs stage of Intel Extreme Masters Dallas 2023, but all the North American outfits are lined-up for elimination rounds.
IEM Dallas 2023 playoffs stage is set to kick off this coming Friday, June 2 in front of a crowd at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Just 4 of the 16 participants that started the tournament will get to play in front of the live audience during the weekend, and in the best-case scenario, there will be only one NA team amongst them.
IEM Dallas 202 3Group A
Heroic and G2 Esports are the two who have made it to the Upper Bracket finals in Group A, which guarantees them a spot in the playoffs. The battle between these two will determine which one will head straight to the playoffs semifinals, the other starting in the quarterfinals of the single elimination playoff bracket. They will be joined from their group by either OG or MOUZ, who will be fighting later today at 21:30 CEST for the final spot in the playoffs from Group A.
Group A runner-up team will fight for a spot in the semifinals on Saturday, June 3 against Group B third placed team, while the third placed team in Group A will be starting the playoff run seeded in the quarterfinals against the Group B runner-up.
IEM Dallas 2023 Group B
Who finishes first and who goes in second place in Group B will be determined Friday, the 1st of June, when ENCE and Astralis are set to clash for playoffs seeding.
Five NA teams entered the battle at IEM Dallas 2023, and only three are left standing in the last rounds of the group play. Evil Geniuses and Nouns Esports suffered early exits, leaving Team Liquid, Complexity and the Eastern European adopted line-up of Cloud9 to fight for one spot in the playoffs.
Cloud9 and Complexity will go head to head in the Group B lower bracket semifinals today, at 18:00 CEST, while Team Liquid will play at the time against FaZe Clan. Today’s match-ups will deliver at least one NA team for the Group B lower bracket finals. For the NA CS:GO fans, the ideal scenario is to have 2 NA squads fighting in the final round so they can have at least one heading to the playoffs.
Of the three remaining NA teams, Team Liquid are the only ones who made it to the Champions Stage at the recently concluded BLAST.tv Paris Major 2023, but their run was abruptly ended in the 5th-8th place by Apex. Faze Clan, their adversaries for today’s elimination match at IEM Dallas, have finished in the same place at the Major, and will be also looking to give their all at one of the very last CS:GO tournaments. So make sure to tune in and catch all the action live on the ESL_CSGO Twitch.tv streams.
