Mouseports sign six-figure deal with Vodafone

The telecommunications giant will become mousesports' main sponsor in a deal that will net the org a six-figure sum as well as considerable support.

It’s been a decent week for mousesports, with a win over Na’Vi yesterday in the EPL, and the good news kept rolling off the press today with the news they have secured a new deal with a AAA sponsor. Vodafone, a firm already involved with a fair few esports teams, have signed a deal with mousesports that will see them become the main sponsor of the org, worth at least six figures according to a report in The Esports Observer.

The deal is in place in time for mouz to sport their new togs this weekend at EPL in Dallas, and includes not only their Counter Strike roster but all the teams currently under the mousesports banner, including their Dota 2 and FGC arms. It will see the organisation highlighted and promoted in Vodafone’s bespoke magazine named Featured, as well as the telecommunication giant supporting their boot camps and giving mouz the benefit of their huge social media outreach.

For a while, especially following the departure of star man Nikola ‘NiKo’ Kova? for FaZe Clan, mousesports as an org were somewhat figures of fun, with two of the lowest rated players to regularly appear at LAN on their roster, but times may be changing for them. Tomáš ‘oskar’ Š?astný has been carrying the torch for a while, and the recent addition of Estonian wunderkind Robin ‘ropz’ Kool has really boosted the team too. Their win over Na’Vi yesterday was impressive in part for how often they outplayed the heavily favoured Ukrainian side, and even the much-maligned Denis ‘denis’ Howell looked a top level talent.

Of course there will be stiffer tests to come than the famously flaky Na’Vi, but for now it is safe to safe mouz have probably enjoyed the week they’ve had, and this Vodafone news is a big part of that. The next question is how well the team can kick on with this support, and mouz CEO Cengiz  Tüylü clearly believes this deal will facilitate their progress as an organisation.

“Most importantly, the partnership with Vodafone, combined with the creative power of Jung von Matt, opens up a whole new dimension of opportunities for us,” he said in a statement given to TEO. “We want to stand out and do more than just branding. Esports needs marketers that know how to step up the game from an activation perspective. Long term stability doesn’t just come with money – it comes with content and effort.”
