iBUYPOWER have announced the final list of teams that will participate in the online tournament this coming weekend, February 28 - March 1. Eight of the top North American teams will compete for the grand prize of $4,000 in the inaugural event hosted by the American organization.
Eight teams were invited by iBUYPOWER to participate in the tournament and were seeded based on their ranks in ESEA Invite and Premier:
- Team Liquid
- Counter Logic Gaming
- Mythic Men
- eLevate
- Denial eSports
- SapphireKelownaDotCom
- Area51
- Ascendancy
Team Liquid will kick off the event against Ascendancy at 19:00 CET Feb 28. Each match through the finals will be a best-of-three affair and will be casted by ESEA casters that have yet to be announced. The invitational will use the current ESEA Map pool consisting of de_inferno, de_dust2, de_nuke, de_overpass, de_season, de_cach and de_mirage.
Due to previous scheduling conflicts, Cloud9 will not be able to attend the event per a statement from iBuyPower on their twitter account.
