Now that we're in 2025, there’s definitely a lot to look forward to in Genshin Impact this year!
With Natlan’s Archon Quest coming to a close in the recent Genshin Impact version 5.3 update, our journey within the Nation of War has finally concluded. There’s been a lot of ups and downs in Genshin Impact for 2024, but 2025 will still have a lot in store for Travelers, so here’s what we’re most excited for!
Lantern Rite 2025
Lantern Rite is always a big celebration that promises tons of rich rewards, a beautiful event story, and free characters to look forward to. Coming to players on the second half of version 5.3, this year’s Lantern Rite will feature new outfits for Hu Tao and Xiangling, a free Liyue 4-star of our choice, which also includes the new Anemo character Lan Yan, free Primogems, and the return of the legendary Xiao Lanterns!

New characters

During the version 5.3 livestream, HoYoverse teased seven upcoming playable characters by providing an image of their silhouettes. Although these characters have an air of mystery around them, we’re pretty sure that one of them will be Iansan, one of Mavuika’s chosen warriors who played a big role in Natlan’s Archon Quest. For the rest, well, we’re not sure yet! But we have a feeling that the lady in the middle may be the mysterious mentor of Childe: Skirk, who we last saw in Fontaine’s Archon Quest!
The Harbinger tasked with taking the final Gnosis
After Mavuika’s victory, she confirmed to the Traveler that the Pyro Gnosis is still in her possession, thanks to Capitano’s strong principle at the face of his defeat during their battle. As such, she’s expecting another Harbinger to appear in Natlan who will be tasked with taking the Gnosis from her. Although there’s no clue yet as to who that Harbinger may be, we’re placing our chips on either Columbina or Dottore, but the battle-loving Tartaglia may also be likely!
Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya
Since our mission in Natlan has finally concluded, we’re finally getting closer than ever to the mysterious, frozen lands of Snezhnaya, where the Tsaritsa, the Cryo Archon, is laying in wait for our arrival. However, it seems like Genshin Impact’s version 6.0 update won’t immediately thrust us into the dangerous terrain of Snezhnaya, as HoYoverse did divulge our next destination: Nod-Krai.
Nod-Krai is nestled within a harsh environment and is home to a Fatui stronghold overseen by the cunningly evil Il Dottore. While we're not sure yet what lies in store for us in this new area, it is surely looking dangerous.
