Two former NRG VALORANT members, s0m and FNS, returned to the team and bolstered them for Stage 2 of VCT 2024 Americas.
Former NRG members Sam “s0m” Oh and Pujan “FNS” Mehta returned to the team for Stage 2 of VCT 2024 Americas. Both players will look to fill the void left by Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen and Demon1 on the team and guide the squad through for the last chance to be in the VALORANT Champions 2024.
s0m and FNS will join Austin “crashies” Roberts, Victor “Victor” Wong, and Ethan “Ethan” Arnold, with Demon1 standing by as the substitute. The team will compete in the VCT 2024 Americas Stage 2 alongside ten other teams to secure one of the three spots available to the VALORANT Champions 2024.
In 2023, particularly in September, s0m left NRG to take some time off on competitive VALORANT. He didn't, however, leave the game completely, as he still streamed his gameplay and interacted with his fans then. His return to the team in 2024 was at the right time, as NRG was struggling to perform to its maximum potential.
For almost the same reason as s0m, FNS also left NRG in September 2023 after the conclusion of Champions. He chose to join G2 Esports as their streamer after his contract with NRG ran out. The former OpTic Gaming member strives in his role as a streamer. During his stream, he proved that he still has the same mechanical prowess and game sense that led to some iconic moments in his career.

NRG completely revamped its roster after the conclusion of Champions 2024, releasing s0m, Ethos, FNS, and ardiis as their contracts ran out. In the process of doing the revamp, they recruited Marved from Sentinels, and Ethan with Demon1 from Evil Geniuses. On paper, the team looked strong and could be one of the powerhouses in the Americas. It didn't, however.
After much hype about their roster, NRG wasn't performing in their best shape or form, as they failed to compete in two Masters in 2024. This showed with their poor result in the league, as Marved and Demon1 didn't look comfortable with how the team played, mirroring their Stage 1 performance.
With two of their former players, can NRG qualify for the Champions in 2024 with possibly their last chance to the tournament in Stage 2?
