VALORANT Champions 2021 and 2022 both featured $1 million prize money. Now that the prize pool is $2.25 million, the winners of VALORANT Champions 2023 will bag a huge $1 million. The first runner-up will take home $400,00 which is $50,000 more than the prize money gained by the 2021 and 2022 Champions title holders.
The third placer will be awarded $250,000 while the fourth placer will get $130,000. The rest will be spread out to the remaining teams. There are 16 teams vying for the VALORANT Champions 2023 title. The teams took a different path such as the designated leagues for their regions, winners of VCT Last Chance Qualifiers, top three winners of Masters Tokyo, and three winners of China qualifiers.
It took a while for the prize pool of the biggest tournament of the year to be revealed. The recently concluded VCT Masters Tokyo had a $1 million prize pool, which marked the highest prize pool for a VCT Masters tournament. Before VCT Masters Tokyo, its iterations had prize pools that varied from $600,000 to $690,000.
As of this writing, Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov from Fnatic is the player with the highest tournament winnings estimated at $212,571.66. This was due to earning the title for VCT Masters Tokyo and winning 2nd place at VCT Champions 2021 under Gambit.
