Valorant Shuffle: T1 releases autimatic and ska while gaining Seven plus Excel gains a new roster

Team Heretics also gains a new roster line-up for the upcoming 2022 VCT season.

With the 2022 season of the VALORANT Champions Tour set to start within the next few weeks, teams are readying their rosters as they prepare to start the journey to Champions 2022.  The teams are working hard to finalise their strategy for the start of the season, and shuffles are part of their plan as they look forward to the season’s kick-off.

T1

Within 24 hours, the North American team T1 made two movements. First, they released Timothy “autimatic” Ta and Tyler “Ska” Latham from their roster.

Autimatic’s next move is highly linked with a return to CS:GO with reports surfacing that Evil Geniuses are possibly looking to bring autimatic, along with his former teammate Jake “Stewie2k” Yip into their team. But for now, it is still unconfirmed news for autimatic’s next move after T1. On the other hand, Ska’s next move is still up in the air at this point.

At the same time, the team also welcomed Johann “seven” Hernandez into the team as a duelist. He previously has only been subbing for 100 Thieves.

During his time with 100 Thieves, Seven did not manage to be integrated into the mainline team, only subbing for the team during the team’s run during VCT 2021. Their mediocre run during last season meant that seven was part of the retooling of the roster and was released.

T1 is hoping that with Seven’s signing, the team can have a much more successful run for VCT 2022. T1’s current roster will be:

  • Zander “thwifo” Kim
  • Joshua “steel” Nissan
  • Rahul “curry” Nemani
  • Anthony “dawn” Hagopian
  • Johann “seven” Hernandez

Excel Esports

Excel Esports has announced their new roster for the VCT 2022 season, with four new signings to rebuild their 2021’s line-up. The new roster will be consisting of:

  • Muhammad “Moe40” Hariff
  • Dragan “elllement” Milanović
  • Oscar “ozzy” Scott
  • Egor “chiwawa” Stepanyuk
  • Patryk “paTiTek” Fabrowski

Excel also announced the return of former coaching staff. The team will continue with head coach Jimmy “Jumpy Berndtsson and assistant Sam “Fields” Greenfield.

This new roster is hoped to turn around their luck in 2022 after a non-starter in 2021, due to their withdrawal in the early stages of VCT 2021. While they did place second at the VALORANT Open Tour: France – Spring Qualifier in May, they had to leave early with the departure of Vincent “Happy” Cervoni Schopenhauer and Marc “Honeybee” Begley.

The four new signings, however, bring some light at the end of the tunnel for Excel. With good experience coming into the team with the new members, Excel may just propel itself to a better position this year. paTiTek for example brings his experience playing with G2 Esports while Chiwawa also brings experience from Ninjas in Pyjamas.

Excel will be playing their first match in the VCT 2022 Europe Stage One Open Qualifier as they compete for a ticket for the VCT Stage One Challengers circuit.

Heretics

Team Heretics just announced an update to their roster for 2022. They have brought in talents from both CS:GO and Overwatch to build up the VALORANT roster. The Spanish team will have the following members as part of their line-up:

  • Felix “al0rante” Brandi
  • Christian “lowel” Garcia Antoran
  • Jesper “tenzki” Plougmann Mikalski
  • Daniel Mertz
  • Jose Antonio “Bromas” Ramos Gonzalez

The biggest name in the lineup will be TENZKI, who will be transfering from CS:GO to VALORANT this year. He previously played with SK Gaming, Team Dignitas, Rogue, and ALTERNATE aTTaX.

With the new acquisitions, Heretics hope they can regain their glory days from 2020 to 2022.
