Filipino player PatMen will serve as the sixth man for Paper Rex.
Ahead of the next stage of the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) Pacific, Singaporean powerhouse Paper Rex announced on Tuesday (4 March) that they are officially adding Filipino player Patrick "PatMen" Mendoza to their roster as the squad’s sixth man. PatMen is expected to arrive in Seoul in the coming weeks, pending logistics and paperwork.
“As VALORANT reaches its fifth year, it’s no surprise that the VCT circuit is more competitive than ever, and we must energise and reinvigorate ourselves,” said Paper Rex Chief Gaming Officer (CGO) Harley "dsn" Örwall in a press release.
“An injection of new blood with young eyes brings fresh perspectives to our game. Adding PatMen to the PRX family allows us to widen our experiments with a greater breadth of playstyles.”
PatMen is a former member of the Filipino team NAOS Esports and is known for his versatility, excelling in both initiator and duelist roles. He recently competed in the VCT Challengers 2025 Southeast Asia with NAOS Esports and was previously part of the ZOL Esports roster that was crowned champions of the 2024 Acer Predator League Philippines.
Paper Rex’s current VALORANT roster now consists of Khalish “d4v41” Rusyaidee, Jason “f0rsakeN” Susanto, Aaron “mindfreak” Leonhart, Ilya "something" Petrov, Wang “Jinggg” Jing Jie, and PatMen. The team is led by head coach Alexandre “alecks” Sallé and managed by Kumeresan "Tommy" Ramani.
Paper Rex’s latest roster move comes on the heels of a disappointing early exit at the VCT Pacific Kickoff 2025 Playoffs, where they fell to Japan’s DetonatioN FocusMe 0-2 in round 2 of the lower bracket.
This also marked the first time Paper Rex has missed an international event since VALORANT Champions 2021, the longest streak held by any organisation in the VCT. Chinese team EDward Gaming are about to take on that title, should they qualify for Masters Toronto.
The team has had a strong history of international performances. In 2024, they placed 9th-12th at VALORANT Champions, 5th-6th at Masters Shanghai, and 3rd at Masters Madrid. In 2023, they secured 2nd place at VALORANT Champions, 3rd at Masters Tokyo, and 17th-32nd at LOCK//IN São Paulo. Their 2022 season saw them finish 9th-12th at VALORANT Champions, 2nd at Masters Copenhagen, and 4th at Masters Reykjavík.
Founded in 2020, Paper Rex is a Singapore-based esports organisation primarily competing in VALORANT as a VCT Pacific partnered team. The organisation has consistently been one of the top-performing teams in the world, winning the VCT Pacific Playoffs 2023 after defeating DRX in their home country.
With the addition of PatMen, Paper Rex is hoping to bounce back stronger in the VCT Pacific League and reclaim its place on the international stage.
