KOI is expected to join the VCT circuit soon and Cryocells beefs up XSET’s roster to six persons.
As we step into 2022, the new VCT season will be starting pretty soon. It is time for teams to firm up their rosters and get ready for the upcoming circuit.
KOI
Founded by FC Barcelona’s Gerard Piqué and popular Spanish streamer Ibai Llanos, KOI has been reported that they will be joining the VALORANT circuit in 2022. The new team is set to be built with the core members from the old UCAM Esports Club lineup, according to Dexerto.
KOI made a splash at the end of 2021 with their announcement of their League of Legends team, alongside a team of Spanish-speaking streamers under the brand.
According to the report, the lineup will include Ladislav ‘Sacake’ Sachr, Gabriel ‘shrew’ Gessle, and Oskar ‘PHYRN’ Palmqvist, Joona ‘H1ber’ Parviainen, and Gabriel ‘starkk’ Marques.
The new team from KOI will start their competition journey with VRL Spain, part of the slew of regional leagues for VCT 2022. The winner of each VRL will qualify for the VCT Promotion Tournament to receive the spot in the VCT EMEA Stage 2.
KOI’s upcoming Valorant roster:
- Sacake
- Gabriel “shrew” Gessle
- PHYRN
- Joona “H1ber” Parviainen
- Gabriel “starkk” Marques
- Aska (coach)
- Sergio ‘Sikak0’ Rodríguez (assistant coach)
XSET
Ex-SoaR duelist Matthew “Cryocells” Panganiban has been confirmed to join XSET as part of their 2022 roster. His joining will bump up the number of the roster to six for the 2022 VCT season.
Cyrocells was with Big Frames and Cosmic Divide before SoaR, where he played in the VCT Stage 1 for Big Frames, and SoaR in Stage 3. His best has been winning the WSOE Online V: Valorant with Big Frames.
With him joining the team, the question is who will be benched to keep the team a 5-man team? His direct competitor will be PureR, who also mains Jett. The alternate question is – will XSET keep the 6-man roster to allow dual duelists in the roster so that swaps can be made in the future.
