"Heavy is the Crown" music video shows Faker defending a kingdom under siege.

The highly-anticipated 2024 League of Legends World Championship Anthem “Heavy Is The Crown,” performed by global rockstars Linkin Park and its music video is finally out on YouTube and streaming platforms worldwide.

Released on Tuesday (24 September), the music video brings the world of LoL Esports into a new perspective, with none other than LoL G.O.A.T. Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok, at the centre of the action.

The video portrays Faker as a king defending his throne from challengers, symbolising his dominance as one of the most celebrated League of Legends players in history.

Through the lens of a newly crowned king defending a kingdom under siege, the video honours both Faker and T1’s historic win at Worlds 2023, while also embodying the competitive spirit of LoL players and professionals worldwide.

It also celebrates the rich history of kingdoms and dynasties in London, where the Worlds Finals will take place on the 2nd of November, at the O2 Arena.

T1 and Faker’s long journey at Worlds

As Faker and T1 prepare to defend their title at the 2024 World Championship, Heavy Is the Crown serves as a fitting anthem for their journey.

Faker, being the only LoL pro to have four World Championship titles under his belt, 2 Mid-Season Invitational titles and ten domestic titles is looked up to by many, especially because of his discipline and perseverance to win the fourth title after so many years.

With all the accolades under his name, Faker was inducted into the LoL Hall of Fame this year, where Riot Games and LoL Esports honoured his legacy and his achievements.

However, much like the lyrics of 2024 Worlds anthem, Heavy is the Crown—the pressure of staying on top can be quite a struggle for Faker and his entire team.

The pressure seemed to show through the cracks in T1's performance at the LCK Summer this year, with the team barely squeaking into Worlds as the LCK’s fourth seed

With the release of "Heavy Is the Crown," Linkin Park’s return to the spotlight aligns perfectly with the build-up to Worlds 2024.

The anthem reflects the high stakes and intensity of competition at this year’s tournament, while also marking a significant moment for both the band and the esports community.

As Faker and T1 gear up for another championship run, the anthem highlights the intensity of competition while marking a significant moment in both esports and music.
