The PUBG Mobile World Cup 2024 group stage ended with an appalling underperformance by one of the tournament's favourites to advance, Falcons Force. The Mongolia-based team failed to finish in the top twelve after a disastrous last effort to secure the Main Stage. They only secured a thirteenth-place finish with zero kills over the last two rounds.
Speaking of underperforming teams, PMSL Southeast Asia Summer winner BOOM Esports also hasn't played their best game so far in the tournament. They only accumulated 70 points from 12 matches, never got a chicken dinner, and only thrice placed inside the top three. However, they were still placed in eleventh place on the leaderboard, enabling them to go straight into the Main Stage.
On the other side of the table, the red team was undoubtedly the dominant force of the tournament so far, with five members placing in the top twelve, which only leaves seven slots for the remaining two teams. Yoodo Alliance was the undeniable king of the mountain with a whopping 122 points from twelve rounds, even scoring a back-to-back Chicken Dinner.
Here is the list of twelve teams that secured the Main Stage phase:
- Yoodo Alliance
- Tianba
- 4Merical Vibes
- Team Liquid
- Alpha7 Esports
- Al Ula X IHC Esports
- D'Xavier
- Talon Esports
- POWR Esports
- BOOM Esports
- Vampire Esports
- REJECT
The rest of the team will play in the Survival Stage alongside Team Pandum, RUKH Esports, Team Spirit, and Twisted Minds Brazil. This time, the stakes were even higher because whoever placed below fourth would be eliminated. The obvious favourite to advance was Falcons Force. However, they need to regain their form before the Survival Stage start.
The other team most likely to advance was Team Pandum from Indonesia, as they were the same Pigmy team that won PMNC 2023 from Indonesia and placed sixth on the PMSL SEA Summer below Vampire Esports. However, as the nature of the tournament made nothing impossible, we might see a lot of surprises this time.
