He has signed up with the Los Angeles Gladiators for the upcoming OWL season.
It has been confirmed that Patiphan “Patiphan” Chaiwong has left his team X10 Crit and resumed his Overwatch career with the Lost Angeles Gladiators. He last played in the quarterfinal match against Gambit Esports where his team did not manage to go through to the semis.
Patiphan, who played in the Overwatch League for the WGS Phoenix in 2020, has been officially picked up by the Gladiators, based on a social media post the Los Angeles team posted earlier today. This marks the Thai’s return to the game after two years away from OWL.
His best performance was in 2018, where he played in the Overwatch World Cup representing Thailand at the age of 15. He made waves while playing heroes Genji and Widowmaker.
He retired from Overwatch in 2020, where he established himself as a rising star in the VALORANT scene in Southeast Asia and attended two major international tournaments this year - VALORANT Champions Tour Stage 2: Masters Reykjavík and VALORANT Champions. As X10 Crit’s ace, he brought the team to new heights with his plays and strategies.
With his move to Overwatch League, he will be able to flex out his gaming muscle, especially with the upcoming Overwatch League 2022 moving to an early build of Overwatch 2 ahead of its official release. With the shift to 5v5 and one less tank in the lineup of heroes, the game is expected to shine on damage dealers, which Patiphan is well known for.
