The upcoming 5.6 update for Genshin Impact has a new batch of system updates for players to enjoy.
With Version 5.6 right around the corner, the developers of Genshin Impact have revealed a list of new quality-of-life updates players can expect with the upcoming update, as well as other interface and feature optimisations. The recently released Developer’s Discussion over on HoYoLab dives into these updates, which include a Treasure compass upgrade, batch deletion of map pins, and more.
Track enemies and locate treasure chests with the Treasure Compass upgrade
Starting with Version 5.6, travellers will now be able to track Warrior’s Challenge locations throughout Teyvat. This includes the Local Legend challenge for Fontaine and the Tribe Challenge in Natlan.
Previously, these challenges weren’t at all visible in the map, leaving encounters with these elite enemies down to chance or through some dedicated exploration. With this upgrade, players will find it easier to test their mettle against some incredibly powerful overworld enemies.
Besides Warrior’s Challenge tracking, the Treasure Compass will provide even more clues when it comes to treasure chest hunting. When a specific area reaches a high level of Exploration Progress, players will be able to use the Treasure Compass to mark the location of treasure in Natlan.
Similarly, when players reach sufficiently high Exploration progress, Mora Chests from each nation can also be located through the Treasure Compass. Here’s to finally reaching 100% exploration!
Other quality-of-life updates
Who doesn’t suffer from a cluttered map full of pins you can’t even recall the purpose for anymore? Luckily for travellers who want a more organised map, Version 5.6 will implement a new batch delete feature. Travellers will be able to filter pins by region and marker category, and delete all selected markers with just one click.
Besides the map update, we’re finally getting a more simplified version of character skill descriptions! We all know how incredibly complicated character skills can be, and with Genshin Impact’s roster now having over 90 playable characters, it's about time the devs finally gave us descriptions that are easy to understand.
In that regard, simplified and intuitive character skill descriptions will be made available for new characters, with players being able to select the descriptions to learn more at a glance.
The Adventurer’s Handbook Domain Interface is also getting some display optimisations, which will make it easier for travellers to identify equipment enhancement materials, as the Domains will be categorised by type.
Additionally, Domains will now be sorted in order from newest to oldest, while Envisaged Echoes rewards will get a preview.
Other updates are:
- Optimised character-building experience
- Character quick swap function added
- Timely reminders of collection progress when it comes to levelling characters
- Imaginarium Theater update, which will include display optimisations for “Brilliant Blessings”, new Stella Achievement Rewards, and a new Last Act restart function.
