If the previous two quarter final matches saw epic comebacks and neck-and-neck five-set series, the one between NaJin Sword and MVP White was nothing of the sort. Carried by the painful Amumu/Miss Fortune combo and SSONG's nontraditional to some extent mid picks like Kayle and Kha'Zix, Sword got an easy two-game lead before MVP decided on banning MF and take Amumu away from NJS in the next game.
Said third set started explosively for MVP White and a quick lead in kills was secured, having viewers and casters alike if this won't be a repeat of the previous quarter final matches. Gearing towards team-fight oriented combos with Amumu, Ashe and Karthus, MVP looked great on paper but poorer in reality as the game progressed. True to their aggressive diving style, NaJin Sword picked heavy burst champions in Kha'Zix, Xin Zhao and Ezreal and gave Kayle to SSONG to ensure those critical seconds of immortality. As they suffered more and more pain by Maknoon's company, MVP White had to hit the surrender button for the 0-3 loss.
NaJin's victory sends them to the semi-finals of The Champions winter where they will play the winner of the KT Rolster team-kill which is to be broadcast on January 4th. The other semi-final match (played on January 6th) is another brotherly face-off between Azubu Blaze and Azubu Frost.
