Aurora will now face Fnatic ONIC PH for the MPL Philippines Season 14 championship.

We now know the two teams that will represent the Philippines in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) M6 World Championship, but sadly the reigning world champions won't be one of them.

Aurora Gaming defeated reigning world champions Falcons AP.Bren, 4-2, in the best-of-seven lower bracket finals of the MLBB Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 14 Playoffs on Saturday (October 19) to become the country's second representative in this year's MLBB crowning tournament.

Aurora will be joining FNATIC Onic PH in M6, who became the first Filipino representative in the tournament after defeating AP.Bren in the upper bracket finals on Friday (October 18).

AP.Bren and Aurora entered the MPL PH Season 14 Playoffs as the second and fourth seeds from the Regular Season. As the league's second seed, AP.Bren earned a direct berth to the upper bracket semifinals in the Playoffs while Aurora had to start in the Play-Ins.

Aurora outlasted Team Liquid PH in the Play-Ins but then fell victim to ONIC PH in a 3-0 sweep in the upper bracket semifinals. Meanwhile, AP.Bren defeated Blacklist International in five games in the other upper bracket semifinals match to meet ONIC PH in the upper bracket finals.

On the third day of the Playoffs, we saw ONIC PH run AP.Bren in the upper bracket finals to become this season's first grand finalist. Aurora then swept Blacklist in the lower bracket semifinals to advance to the lower bracket finals versus AP.Bren.

With a spot in M6 at stake, both teams went blow-for-blow in a six-game slugfest, but in the end it was Aurora that emerged victorious to qualify for this year's world championship tournament and deny AP.Bren the chance to defend their title.

It was AP.Bren who struck first in the lower bracket finals, as they dominated Aurora to the tune of a 21-3 kill lead in just 11 minutes behind a perfect eight-kill, two-assist performance by Marco “Super Marco” Requitiano on Beatrix. Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson on Suyou and David “FlapTzy” Canon on Barats also combined for a clean seven kills and 25 assists while Angelo “Phewww” Arcangel on Luo Yi had five kills and 15 assists on one death.

Aurora were quick to tie up the series at 1-1 in a 14-minute game two, with Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto on Alpha pacing his team's 11-6 kill lead with six kills and three assists on three deaths. Jan Dominic “Domeng” Delmundo on Harith also pitched in with three kills and five assists on one death.

Game three saw Aurora continue rolling and take a 2-1 series lead in an 18-minute stomp. Demonkite on Suyou and Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo on Aurora led the way with a clean five kills apiece while Domeng on Moskov also notched three kills with zero deaths.

With momentum firmly on their side, Aurora took a commanding 3-1 series lead after stomping AP.Bren in a 14-minute game four. Edward “Edward” Dapadap on Edith spearheaded his team's huge win with a perfect six-kill, three-assist scoreline out of the team's 11-2 kill lead.

With their backs against the wall in game five, AP.Bren showed they wouldn't go down without a fight by winning an 18-minute bloodbath. KyleTzy on Suyou notched six kills and seven assists on two deaths while Super Marco on Moskov had four kills and seven assists on two deaths.

With a spot in M6 well within reach for Aurora, Demonkite showed out as X.Borg and put up a perfect seven kills and four assists to lead his team in closing out the 4-2 series victory in a 14-minute rout.

With their victory, Aurora advanced to the grand finals of the MPL PH Season 14 Playoffs and guaranteed themselves at least a second place finish as well as $20,000 in winnings. With the all-important spot in the M6 World Championship also secured, Aurora can focus on claiming the MPL PH Season 14 championship and the grand prize of $35,000.

Meanwhile, AP.Bren ended their run in MPL PH Season 14 with a commendable third place finish and will take home $10,000 for their efforts.
