Week 1 of the MPL Indonesia Season 14 leaderboard almost perfectly mirrored Season 13. Coincidence?
Week 1 of MPL Indonesia saw impressive performances from three teams: 
Fnatic ONIC, 
Dewa United Esports, and 
Bigetron Alpha. However, the most intriguing part of the first week was how the teams’ results almost perfectly mirrored the previous season.
Fnatic ONIC, the current defending champion, started their campaign with a stellar mark, earning two crucial wins over 
Team Liquid ID and 
Rebellion Esports with 2-0 and 2-1 scores, respectively. The most dominant team in Indonesia showed why they are still the best team in the league, especially when they routed Rebellion Esports in a 10-minute slaughter.
Meanwhile, Bigetron Alpha continued their trend of starting the season strong with an excellent performance against Team Liquid ID and the newly rebuilt 
RRQ Hoshi. This start of the campaign almost mirrors Season 13, when they dismantled 
Geek Fam ID and 
EVOS Glory. However, they would prefer to avoid how they ended the league in Season 13.
Speaking of mirroring the previous season, the Dewa United Esports squad also replicated their Season 13 start with two wins in week 1. This time, however, their victims were EVOS Glory and Geek Fam. They dismantled the White Tigers Squad 2-1 while completely outclassing The Geeks in a 2-0 win.
On the other side of the spectrum, the highly anticipated start of Team Liquid ID didn’t go as planned, as they suffered a 2-0 loss twice. Their losses also mirrored their performance in Season 13 when they lost against Dewa United Esports and RRQ Hoshi.
This almost-perfectly-replicated-week-one-leaderboard only marred with how RRQ Hoshi got a 1-1 score in the league. Rebellion Esports also blemished the leaderboard a bit when they lost against Fnatic ONIC in the league to end the week with a 0-1 score.
Perhaps the script must be followed or pure coincidence; it is exciting to see whether the leaderboard position of MPL Indonesia Season 14 will remain similar to that of the second week of MPL Indonesia Season 13.
