Earlier today we say two magnificent upper bracket series from day one of the Mobile Legends Professional League Singapore playoffs for Season 7. With both Asteris and Bleed Esports losing their respective series, they were pushed into the lower bracket. This would see the first two eliminations of MPL SG Season 7’s playoffs, as the two teams would face off against EVIL and Vanguard Esports, respectively.

Asteris stand strong

After they were swiftly destroyed by NIP Flash earlier in the day, Asteris had a huge job on their hands in the lower bracket. Having come through the qualifier, the team had already made waves, but now they needed to find a way to survive day one of the MPL SG Season 7 playoffs. EVIL had made a fantastic showing in the region for some time, with third and fourth-place finishes consistently – but Asteris seemed to be on another level. Meticulously, the qualifier hopefuls dismantled EVIL at every turn and eventually secured a 2-0 win.

Unfortunately for EVIL, this would make them the first team eliminated in the MPL SG Season 7 playoffs, as they slumped into sixth place. For Asteris, the win gives them a huge boost, as they enter a guaranteed top-four position in their first season.

Bleeding but merely wounded

Vanguard Esports were next to play, as they took on Bleed Esports in the second elimination series of the day. While BLD may have gone down to RSG Singapore earlier in the day, they were still the favourites to keep themselves going through the lower bracket. It was VGD who drew first blood with a magnificent first-game victory, but a very strange Johnson and Odette combination did not work out in the way which they planned – and everything was tied up at 1-1, with a final game to decide the series.

Although it seemed quite positive for VGD in the early stages of the final game, BLD were quick to understand their tactics and manoeuvre around them. As they got stronger, BLD pressed their advantage, and VDG were unable to come up with a reply, as they eventually lost the game and the series, eliminating them from MPL SG Season 7.

With that, only four teams remain as we now look towards day two of the playoffs, which comes our way on Saturday, June 15th. The day will kick off with a huge upper bracket final between Team Flash and RSG Singapore, before Bleed Esports and Asteris fight for their tournament lives.
