Only four teams now remain in the Games of the Future 2024 tournament as we head into the final two days of action and a champion being crowned.
It has been a few days since the Games of the Future 2024 Mobile Legends: Bang Bang tournament kicked off in Kazan, Russia and we have already seen a few teams falling by the wayside. Following the Group Stage of the event it was Team Lilgun, S2G Esports, Niightmare Esports, and KeepBest Gaming who were bottom of their respective groups – but now, following a few days of playoffs action, only four teams remain, down from 16, with a few shocks coming through.
On the opening day of the playoffs, both BURN x FLASH and Team Flash were defeated in the single elimination bracket’s first round, sending them out of the tournament with Deus Vult and Twisted Minds joining them on the outskirts. Today, however, we saw the even bigger shock defeat of Blacklist International, as they went down to one of their biggest international rivals in the form of the Turkish Fire Flux Esports. Although the once champions of the M-Series have always been able to take down FFE, this time it was the Turkish squad who finally got the upper hand – eliminating them in a swift 2-0 win.
With the day now over, we move into Friday, March 1st, where the final four teams will play to decide the grand finalists for a championship matchup on Saturday. The remaining teams heading into the penultimate day are ONIC Esports, Fire Flux Esports, RRQ Hoshi, and AP.Bren – with Indonesia taking a chance of an all-ID grand final into the last few days of the event.
