After six weeks of Regular Season and four days of Playoffs, we arrived at the culmination of the Mobile Legends Professional League’s twelfth season in the Philippines. Only two teams remained for Grand Final Sunday, as AP.Bren and Blacklist International found themselves ready to battle it out to become the champions of the region.

AP.Bren destroy the code

Right from the first game, it was clear that Bren was on the front foot, showing the same dominance that they did when the two teams faced one another in the upper bracket finals just two days ago. Having drafted the Diggie in game one, something that The Agents are known for having supreme command over, Coach Ducky’s mastermind was just far ahead of them, as Bren went 2-0 up with no contention. It was only when in their most dire state that Blacklist went on with a big change, swapping out Yue for Hadji – and suddenly it was a whole new game.

Seeming refreshed, the once three-time PH champions went forward to Break the Code, finally getting themselves on the scoreboard in the series. But even after taking a loss, Bren was still just on a whole different level, dominating their opponents again in the next game – even with Sensui on his Akai. With championship point in hand, Bren seemed destined to take the series.

While Edward brought out the Benedetta for the next game, and Blacklist even seemed to have some control over the early period, they were just no match for Bren’s devastating team fights. Once Bren took control, there was no stopping them, as they stomped over The Agents to take their first MPL PH victory since Season 6 – the same season that led to their M2 World Championship win.

With that, MPL PH Season 12 comes to an end, with AP.Bren was crowned as the champion. For both teams, 2023 is far from over, as the M5 World Championship awaits them in December, but Blacklist will need to revisit the drawing board if they want to contend with Bren to bring home another title for the Philippines.
