Teams continue to qualify for the upcoming M5 World Championship, with two Brazilian rosters from the Liga Latam 2023 being the next two to reach the event.
Liga Latam has given us a wide range of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang teams over the years, with the likes of S11 Gaming and Malvinas Gaming coming through from the Latam Super League in M4. This year saw a few changes, with the Liga Latam taking over and giving us an all-compassing qualifier for the entirety of Southern America. This included the ML Super League North and South, as well as MPL Brazil. The two top teams from this event would qualify for the M5 World Championship, with a third being a part of the M5 Wildcard event.
It would be the two teams with ties to Indonesian MLBB organisations which eventually came in first and second, with RRQ Akira and Bigetron Sons reaching the main event, respectively. Even after a brief scare as they dropped into the lower bracket on Day 1 of the playoffs, BTR Sons managed a magnificent run to reach the grand finals, where RRQ Akira got the better of them once more.
For third place, Imperio, a spot in the Wildcard awaits, which could possibly result in a total of three teams from the Liga Latam reaching the main event in the Philippines. This would be a massive chance for the South American teams to, once again, show their strength on the international MLBB stage.
While we still do not have dates for the M5 Wildcard event, it should be taking place at some point in November, shortly before the M5 World Championship itself takes place in December of this year. We will have all that information as it becomes available in the coming weeks.
